Amy and Jenny in a nutshell...
When we met in the sixth grade, over 20 years ago, we instantly became close friends! As a result, we've been through many life experiences. Living together in college was when we really started dreaming of owning a business together.
We've had many ideas over the years! Of course, fufilling our dreams of having babies came first--- so our entrepreneurial ideas were put on hold. When Jenny's little guy turned a year old we decided to focus on our business venture. So, after much prayer and planning, our dream has finally become a reality for us!
We are both avid "scrapbookers". The idea of our 'Message in a Box' was derived from a scrapbook page we have both done with our own children. On their first birthdays we would paint their hands and place them on a scrapbook page. At their birthday party, each guest would write a simple message of love or simply sign their name. Those pages were then placed in their scrapbooks. We have continued this tradition for each birthday up to age 5. It is so much fun to go back and see who was at the party and the endearing messages to our children. Our older kids enjoy looking back to see who was at their first parties.
We began to realize that not everyone is a scrapbooker or 'crafty' and our desire was to be able to offer this personalized treasure to others as well. We made a couple of birthday prints for family and friends and all of a sudden we had people wanting to order them with pictures in the middle for anniversaries, baby and wedding showers, graduations, people moving away, hospital stays and even prints for their animals! We had a lot of requests to print them in a size that could be framed so we decided to make our templates in standard frame sizes, but we can print them to fit in standard scrapbooks. All of our 'Message in a Box' prints are printed on high quality presentation paper on a laster jet printer.
We have also started expanding our prints on to wood signs. We can personalize a print for you and put it on wood for you to put on a an easel, stand alone or hang with a ribbon!
Jenny designs all of the cards and prints for 'A Little Love and Beyond'. If you have a special request to match your room decor or theme, let her know and she can work with you to design something to match your needs. Jenny has been blessed with the gift of creativitiy! She has spent many hours designing, creating and drawing most of the art on our website. Amy runs the business end of things. Jenny is thankful that she enjoys managing the finances and making sure she doesn't give everything away for free as she'd like to do ;)
Obviously, we would never be able to fulfill this dream without the help and support of our amazing families! We wouldn't have the desire to do this business if it wasn't for the five cutest kids in the world-Amy's two children and Jenny's three children. Thanks for being patient and understanding while your mommies fulfill their dreams!
